Castle
The Castle was erected in 1198 by the then consuls of the town, the Graciano of San Vittore. It then went to different families of Novara and Milan (the Sforza, the della Porta, the Tornielli and Ponzone Ala). In the fifteenth century the fortifications were adapted to the times. Built in
exposed brick, on the side Access two towers corner and a central tower to defend the entrance, with drawbridge still works, to cross the moat that once surrounded the entire structure and which is now read only the tracks behind the facade .
Inside, the rooms are arranged around a courtyard porch, built in its present form in the eighteenth century .
The courtyard leads to the "Giardinone", created when the complex was residential and no more defensive. The garden is completely surrounded by a large wall and was connected by a path to the pond where there was a shed Hunting with the brothel and the gondolas.
One of the features of this castle is still one of the few drawbridges working.
Churches
The church of St. Victor was the first parish church the country. The building dates back to 1000 , but was demolished in the early nineteenth century nineteenth century with the motivation to make way for modern traffic. In the early twentieth century was built a chapel in memory of church. The church
Santa Maria was built in the XVI century , bigger and also outside the country, with the adjoining cemetery to replace the old parish use.
The church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria was built in seventeenth century, in the town square, opposite the Castle. It replaced an ancient chapel dedicated to the same saint. It is the largest church, the style is baroque, the nave is unique and on it are grafted six side chapels, three on each side.
